Tiger Eye Makeup: Best Tutorial Step By Step

Looking for a new makeup look to try? Why not give tiger eye makeup a go! This stunning look is perfect for an evening out and can be achieved with just a few simple steps. Read on for our step-by-step guide to achieving this fabulous look.

What do I need?

  • Eyeshadow primer
  • A makeup brush (make sure the bristles are firm to pick up a lot of colors)
  • Three different shades of eyeshadow: dark brown, light gold, and copper/bronze
  • We recommend using this  Zpalette to store your makeup.
  • You’ll also need a small container of water to wet your brush and some paper towels for blotting excess color off the brush before applying.

Tutorial steps

Step 1: Apply primer all over the lid until it is smooth. If you have eyelid texture, don’t worry! A little bit of shadow can help to cover it up.

Step 2: Take the dark brown eyeshadow and apply it in the crease of your eyelid. Blend well, so there are no harsh lines.

Step 3: Next, take the light gold eyeshadow and apply it to the inner corner of your eye and on the brow bone. This will help your eyes look brighter.

Step 4: Using the same makeup brush, dip it into the copper/bronze eyeshadow and pat it on top of the gold shade. Go lightly so that there is a gradual color change. This is meant to mimic a natural shadow, so a dramatic contrast looks unnatural.

We recommend using a primer for a smooth finish and a blending brush to achieve this look.

Step 5: Using an eyeliner pencil, line the inner rim of your eyes. Depending on how dramatic you want it to be, you can make a thick or thin line. We kept ours pretty subtle since the rest of our makeup is already very bold.

Step 6: Finish up your look by applying mascara and false lashes, if desired.

And that’s it! You now have a beautiful and natural-looking tiger eye makeup look.

This tutorial can be adapted to any color scheme by using different eyeshadow shades. For example, blue or green tiger eye makeup would look great for a summer party.

We hope you enjoy trying out this makeup look!

Tips To Get Your Look

Applying tiger eye makeup is easy if you know the tricks of the trade. Here are our top few tips to get jaw-dropping eyes every time!

Choose the right brushes. We recommend using a flat eyeshadow brush to apply darker shades, and a fluffy blending brush for lighter ones.

Spritz your brush with water and apply the eyeshadow to lock it in place. This helps prevent creasing and prolongs wear time.

Pick complementary colors for a natural look. Select contrasting colors such as blue and orange or green and red if you want something dramatic. You can also try using one dark shade and one light shade with a medium in between.

Apply dark eyeshadow very sparingly to the outer corner of your eye for an even more dramatic look. Be careful not to go overboard, especially if you are using two contrasting colors!

Curl your eyelashes before applying mascara. This will give them extra volume and length that lasts all day long.

Wet your brush before applying eyeshadow for a more intense color payoff.

The Bottom Line

With these tips, you’ll be able to achieve the perfect tiger eye makeup look in no time! Experiment with different colors and shades to find what works best for you. Have fun and enjoy your new look!
